Mariners Reach Out to Young Fan Hit in Face by Ball

Recently, a young fan of the Seattle Mariners suffered a fate that all of us have dreaded experiencing -- even if in the back of our minds -- when attending a baseball game. Being hit in the face by a foul ball!
The young man, named Jairus according to a report by KIRO News in Seattle, was attending a Mariners game at T-Mobile Park in Seattle with his uncle when he was featured on the gigantic video screen holding a homemade sign. Shortly there after, he was plunked in the head by a foul ball off of the bat of M's star outfielder Mitch Haniger leaving him quite the shiner around his right eye.

The boy's uncle Tweeted out a picture of the injury and in no time the ball club responded and offered up a new souvenir ball (he didn't even get to keep the one that hit him!) as well as tickets to a future game. Haniger himself saw the tweet and told the boy's uncle, Chris, to direct message him his mailing address and promised that he would send a care package to the young fan.

Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford also reached out saying the he actually saw the incident as it happened and also promised to hook the boy up with some swag as well.
Definitely a tough way to get a hold of some unique souvenirs at the ball yard but, hey... he will DEFINITELY have some stories to tell for the rest of his life.
All is well that ends well and it's good to see that the boy is now doing just fine.
