Monitoring Continues On Rattlesnake Ridge
The land on top of Rattlesnake Ridge continues to slowly move, but no landslide yet. And the experts still say its not expected to slide for months or years.
"We still have a lot of geologists watching it, making sure it's doing what it's supposed to do," says Jeff Emmons, director of the Yakima Valley Office of Emergency Management. "Nothing has changed."
When the large crack on top of the ridge was discovered late last year, more than 50 state and federal agencies were involved in monitoring and studying the ridge. Many experts are still watching the land, but they say there's still nothing new to report.
People who live nearby have been allowed to return to their homes as the monitoring continues.
