Nick Kimmel, a 22-year-old Marine from Moses Lake and triple amputee (due to injuries he sustained last December while serving in Afghanistan after stepping on an I.E.D.), was honored before Thursday night's game two of the 2012 World Series in San Francisco.
A baseball fan his whole life, Kimmel, who lost both legs and an arm, threw a first pitch strike from just in front of the mound at A T & T Park.  He was escorted by former war veteran and baseball Hall of Famer Willie Mays and Giants pitcher Barry Zito.
