Stolen Ouija Board Leads to Moses Lake Arrest
Many say that criminals are a superstitious lot. Okay, I heard Batman say that, but it might be truer than we realized, at least for one Moses Lake alleged criminal. We have the details of how a Ouija board helped bring a person to justice.
Stereo, Prescription Drugs, Planchette?
Moses Lake Police Department reported on their Facebook page about a car break in off of Nelson Road earlier this month.
The victim claimed that the car’s stereo had been pulled out of the dashboard and stolen, along with keys, some prescription medications, and an Ouija board.
For those of you who do not know about this type of ‘divination device’, it is claimed to be used to talk to the spiritual world and can cause misfortune if not properly used. Perhaps that is what happened to the person who was caught.

Upon hearing of the car break-in, an officer remembered how he had passed a woman walking down the street holding such a board. He noted that it was unusual, but there was no reason any wrongdoing was at hand.
The observant officer was able to relocate the person in question, and after searching the subject, not only was the Ouija board found, but the other items reported missing from the vehicle were found as well.
The woman was booked into Grant County Jail after attempting to flee from officers. Charges include:
- Vehicle Prowl Second Degree
- Theft Third Degree
- Possession of a Legend Drug (Prescription Drug)
- Malicious Mischief Third Degree
- Resisting Arrest.
