5 Unique Crafts At This Year’s Oktoberfest in Yakima
The weather is one of the truest joys of living in the Pacific Northwest.
This weekend, for example, in the latter half of October, we have sunshine and cool temperatures. It's not cold or hot; it's just beautiful!
It was absolutely fantastic and a great day for a celebration!
Over the weekend, many flocked to Cascade Garden in Yakima to celebrate Oktoberfest!
You could smell the brats and onions cooking as soon as you walked in through the gates.
Visitors to Oktoberfest were greeted by music of all varieties from musicians and artists from around the valley. Although I didn't hear any traditional polkas during the celebrations, I don't think anyone was saddened by that.
With Oktoberfest taking place on a Sunday, turnout was a little slow in the beginning, but once noon hit (the majority of churches wrapping up their Sunday sermons and Seahawks claiming a victory), the attendance boomed.
The greatest part of this celebration, was how it doubled as a fundraiser for the Voice of Children Foundation. Having a bratwurst and helping a child on a beautiful day, it can't get better than that!
Some of the different sights you saw at an Oktoberfest celebration came from the vendors.
A wide variety of vendors filled the grounds of Cascade Garden, some wacky, some unusual, some creative, all of them unique. Here are a handful of unique vendors spotted at Oktoberfest:
Heavy Metal Pigs!
Cereal Box Bags!
Comics & Artist!
Metal Mushrooms!
Fuzzy Gnomes!
Take a scroll and see several other sights that were offered at this year's Oktoberfest, and get ready for an even bigger celebration in 2025!
