After more than 33 years of service to the community, it was quite a send-off into retirement for Selah Police Chief Rick-Buster-Hayes.

I always get choked up watching these last calls.  I'm a huge fan of all the cop shows.  I started way back in the day.  I love watching the old shows, Dragnet, Cagney & Lacey, Barnaby Jones, Rockford Files, Police Woman, there are way too many.  Sometimes, while up late, or up early you can catch a Cannon episode of MeTV.  Do you have a favorite?  FYI...I did google a list.  See if your show is there.

Before we get too far off into the world of great and some not-so-great cop tv-shows, we have our own local chief to recognize.

Selah Police Chief Rick "Buster" Hayes made his final radio call on Monday.  It was documented. Chief Hayes started in the military and then went on to patrol in Wapato, before transferring to Selah.

You can watch Chief Hayes make his final call below.

Best of luck in retirement, Chief Hayes.  Thank you for your years of dedication and service to the community.
