The Yakima City Council met Tuesday and extended a COVID-19 emergency proclamation. The council extended the declaration through Tuesday, November 3. The declaration allows the city to be eligible for state and federal assistance needed to meet costs associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Also on Tuesday council members approved a resolution that repeals a moratorium on parking enforcement. That means that parking enforcement is now underway again after being on hold since June to help those who were home during the COVID-19 emergency. City officials say they've seen a growing number of traffic problems that need enforcement so the council decide to repeal the moratorium.
