Thursday, 94.5 KATS, along with Legends Casino and the City of Yakima kicked off the first of many fun family nights on 4th Street at Downtown Summer Nights.

Yakima Police estimated the crowd to be between 800 and 900 strong, despite that the rain had come earlier in the day.

Part of the reason so many braved the potential for inclimate weather was to see one of the Northwest's all-time great working bands, "Too Slim and the Taildraggers."
Tim "Too Slim" Langford and his rhythm section didn't fail to satisfy the crowd with their tight brand of blues-based rock and scorching slide guitar.

As I mingled with the crowd, I realized that a number in attendance had , quite literally, come from miles around to catch Too Slim's set.  One such couple, whose name unfortunately escapes me, drove 80 miles for the free concert.  I thought, "Wow!  THAT'S dedication!"  Until I met John Salisbury.

Here's a photo with me and John's LEG, clearly showing his love of the band, along with some other shots of the folks, kids and dogs(!) who attended!
