If you live in the lower Yakima Valley and are looking for a COVID-19 shot a vaccine clinic is being planned in Prosser on Saturday, March 20.
The vaccine clinic, sponsored by Prosser Memorial Health will be held at Housel Middle School located at 2001 Highland Drive in Prosser. The community COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic using the Johnson & Johnson one shot vaccine will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 20.
A news release says the vaccine is available to those who are eligible for the vaccine. the  news release says the current phase includes health care workers at high risk for COVID-19 infection, first responders, educators, and school staff for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, and child-care workers, people who live or work in long-term care facilities, and all other workers in health settings who are at risk of COVID-19.
On Wednesday, March 17 the state of Washington moved into Phase 1B, Tier 2 of the vaccine distribution schedule which made thousands more people eligible for the vaccine including agricultural workers including those in the Yakima Valley.

Meanwhile, Johnson & Johnson officials say they're committed to making its COVID-19 vaccine is not used for profit but simply for emergency pandemic use. Company officials say they have shipped the vaccine to states all around the U.S. The company plans to deliver some 100 million single-shot vaccines in the first 6 months of 2021.
