Rock & Roll Timepieces to Feature Chris Cornell Collector Watch
The late CHRIS CORNELL and other musicians have donated personal items to the California-based watch company Nixon.
Nixon has come up with another in its Rock LTD Collection, which takes bits of memorabilia and makes timepieces out of them. Chris gave one of his guitar straps for the collection. DAVE GROHL's watch is made from a plaid flannel shirt.
ELTON JOHN's Sentry Chrono comes from one of his leather paisley-pattern belts. Sales from the watches will benefit the Recording Academy's MAP Fund which helps musicians deal with recovery from addictions. The watches will sell from $1,200 to $1,800 -- except for the Chris Cornell piece, which will be shown at Nixon locations in Paris, London and New York before being auctioned off in May of 2018 at a MusicCares benefit event.
