Earlier this morning, in anticipation of Saving Abel's performance at the ninth annual Smokeout Chokeout at the Speakeasy Bar & Grill, I had the chance to speak with the band's new lead singer Scotty Austin (pictured second from right).

The band is currently in Spokane for a gig there before rolling the tour bus into Yakima for Saturday night's performance.
Scotty talked about how he got in the band to replace former frontman Jared Weeks as well as what classic rock album made a kid from a Tennessee/Mississippi border town want to be a musician.

Tickets for Saturday night's outdoor street concert (3rd Street and Chestnut in Yakima) are still available. Tonight and tomorrow night's music includes Johnny Smokes, Alice In Chains tribute band Jar Of Flies as well as Soundgarden tribute band Outshined.

Tickets for Friday are $15, Saturday $20, or a two-day pass for $30.  They can be purchased at the Speaks or at YourTicketHere.com.
