There is a lot of talk in the Seattle area about increased minimum wages for fast food and restaurant workers.

There is some credibility to the argument when pizza chain managers make $26,000 a year on salary and work 90 or more hours every week with no overtime, which is what one former manager once told me at an orientation as I started my first day at Amazon.

"I am so thankful to be here," I remember him saying.

Finding dedicated workers to work under such stressful conditions is increasingly difficult for some managers apparently with our uber-privileged generation of smartphone zombies marching around. Well, at least around SeaTac ...

 

Given that smartphones cost money and data plans are expensive you'd think some of these zombies would be kicked off of Mom and Dad's couch eventually.
