Originally named the Seattle Center Coliseum when it was built for the 1962 World's Fair, many generations have since seen it in one of its many incarnations following a number of facelifts over the years. Some have only known the building by its corporate name, Key Arena, when Key Bank bought the naming rights back in 1995.
Earlier today, Amazon announced that it has purchased the new naming rights for the, once again, remodeled coliseum and will heretofore be known as Climate Pledge Arena. The new stadium will be the future home to the still unnamed NHL team (Sockeyes!) which will begin play next year.
The arena is being touted as "the first net zero carbon certified arena in the world."

Twitter is already abuzz with, mostly, disparaging comments about the new name which, as one user put it, doesn't exactly roll off the tongue easily. Another user called for fans to get on board by nicknaming it "The Green House".
