This week, the Auditor's office had issued a warning to county voters, stating that political clothing would need to be removed upon entering the courthouse.
Not everyone is voting in the election only those areas with contested races or other issues on the ballot. 63,000 ballots were sent to voters last week.
The Yakima County Auditors Office has sent out 17,000 ballots for the Tuesday special election. Voters in Mabton, Highland and Selah are being urged to fill out ballots and return them to the auditors office by 8:00 pm Tuesday.
According to Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross Angie Girard, a democrat in the Yakima County Commissioner District 2 race was able to gain support in 1% of the ballots returned to qualify to move forward to November.
