For the record, I grew up  near Evanston Wyo., and 90 percent of the population within a 100-mile radius is narrow-minded, Bible-thumping, do-things-their-own-way idiots. But teaching a kid a lesson by making him drink might be the absolute dumbest thing anybody from around there has thought of yet.

In this case, it was an idea that led to the death of 16-year-old Kendal Balls, who was found dead in the home of his mother and stepfather, Joseph M. Richardson and Paulette L. Richardson, in July. The couple has since been charged with involuntary manslaughter after reportedly forcing the boy to drink repeated shots of Fireball and Jack Daniel's in an effort to discourage him from drinking.

The tragedy took place in a super-small town with incredibly narrow-minded individuals -- Urie, Wyo.

The moral of the story is, you do not teach your kids a lesson, you lead by example, for God's sake.
