Todd’s Take: T.B.T. When KATS-FM Was Downtown

Hard to believe but it has been nearly 21 years since I first set foot in the KATS studios as an actual employee.

While we have been at our current location at 4010 Summitview Ave. since December of 1998, for me it all started when the radio station was located downtown on the corner of 4th St. and E. Walnut.

For this "Throwback Thursday", I'm posting this pic that Timmy found while going through some old photos of the neon sign that sat atop the entrance of the old building. If you drive by there today, sadly, it now looks like this:

Yup. A parking lot. It's kind of hard to believe that somewhere in the middle of that concrete I first cracked the microphone for the station I grew-up listening to as a kid. Long live 94.5 KATS - wherever you are!
