Spirit Halloween Opens in Union Gap With Tons of Scares

Earlier this month we wrote about Spirit Halloween opening soon in the old Shopko (and At Home) building at 2530 Rudkin Rd in Union Gap (right next to Burlington and Dick’s Sporting Goods). Well, the time has come, and the unofficial Halloween Headquarters in the Yakima Valley is finally open, and we have photos!

Big Store With Some Big Scares In The Yakima Valley!

I don’t startle and frighten easily, but I will admit, the pumpkin head dude with an axe right at the opening of the store (pictured below), got me.

In the front of the store by the POS (point of sale) counter were the moving displays, complete with floor pads for stepping and instant scares.

Others had sensors; some felt like they were watching me. It was fun and creepy, especially the life size Aliens Xenomorph, which did hiss at me.

The entire setup took up, I’d guess, about half the space of the building, but was still huge, with a wide assortment of costumes (full out fits and pieces), masks, wigs, makeup, accessories, house decor, etc.

If it’s in your brain for Halloween, it is in this store. Even next to the registers, they had some classic VHS films and a few Beetlejuice board games (Monopoly and Ouija).
