I’ve written in the past about how retailers really need to slow down when it comes to the holidays.

We’re getting Halloween stuff before Independence Day, Thanksgiving before Halloween, and Christmas before Halloween.

It doesn’t make any sense!

Who in their right mind is going to Halloween candy 3 months prior and expect it to stay good?

Or even to last, for that matter!

Who is buying Christmas candy before Halloween candy is even off the shelves?

The only time I see that as a win is if you’re buying candy canes and your Halloween costume is Santa or Krampus! Then you get a pass!

But no, retailers are still pushing the next thing before the last thing has even come and finished.

I get it a little bit when it comes to the décor, etc. Or for those people who are hardcore and use their 20-foot skeletons all year long.

That spooky thing is now a spooky pilgrim, or spooky elf, or put a bow and arrow in its bony hand with a diaper, and now it’s a spooky cupid!

But still, when it comes to candy? WHY!?!?

On December 13th, I saw Valentine’s Day candy for sale at a local store!

2 Months Before it is expected to be eaten! Now, the expiration date might be good, but for Pete’s sake, who is going to have a bag of Reese’s Peanut Butter Hearts in their possession for 2 months straight?

NO ONE!

But, for those who do enjoy getting a 2-month jump start on their candy and holiday shopping (in this case, Valentine’s Day), check out just a few of the items that are NOW floating around stores in the Yakima Valley!
