Washington Ranked One of the Strictest States for DUIs
If you or someone you know got a DUI in Washington state they'll be the first to tell you it's no fun. You're paying fines out the nose, you have to get breathalyzers attached to your car, take drug-related classes and more. It's no surprise that Washington is one of the more strict states when it comes to DUIs and for all the right reasons.
But some states are even more strict.
Washington comes in 15th place among all 50 states. It's bad, but not as bad as Arizona. In Washington you get a day in jail, but in Arizona you get a minimum of 10 days in jail. That's also not including all the other fines and fees you have to pay.
There are also a few dates, like South Dakota, where you don't have a minimum of any jail time -- not even for your second offense.
