Weather Forces Cancellation of Apple Cup Races April 6-7

Wet weather forecast for the weekend has forced the cancellation of Apple Cup races at the Yakima Speedway that were scheduled for April 6 and 7.

Race promoter Doug Betterall of Betterall Auto Sales made the announcement on Thursday, saying he wanted to cancel it before anyone made a needless trip to Yakima for the weekend. The Apple Cup race is now set for May 11-12 at the Yakima Speedway.

Even though Apple Cup has been canceled, racing fans can still enjoy Washington Modified Tour races Friday and Saturday at State Fair Park. The races start at 7 p.m.
