Week #5 of Cent. Wa. Bike Nights at 5th Line Brewing Tonight

Last week was week #4 of Central Washington Bike Nights with 94.5 KATS and Owens Harley-Davidson. After almost two years, we are finally back in to the swing of things and were thrilled to be invited back to Whistlin' Jack's Lodge and Outpost in Cliffdell.

We're looking forward to week #5 of our weekly runs tonight from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and every Wednesday evening throughout the Summer. This week, we will be at one of Yakima's newest brewpubs -- the hockey themed 5th Line Brewing at 1015 E. Lincoln Ave. next to Get Air Trampoline Park behind Bob's Burgers & Brew.

This week we will have some fantastic prizes as well as craft beer and handmade pizza! Oh, yeah... Surely game #5 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning will be on the TV screens. The Lightning look to close the series out tonight as they lead 3-1. Be there when Lord Stanley's cup possibly gets hoisted!

5th Line is named such because, according to the proprietors, "there are only 4 lines on a real hockey team. We aren't that good so we dubbed ourselves the 5th Line. The term has then morphed into being similar to the “12th man” or fan club or being like the 19th hole in golf- the meet up for drinks at the club house- anyway you slice it basically we like to play hockey and drink with our friends." Sounds good to us!

The brewery is also kid and dog-friendly. They also have "a little something for everyone like non-alcoholic options for kids such as sodas, juice and chocolate milk as well as non alcoholic beers for those that don't imbibe.

Of course food and drink specials too but it's nothing without you! We'll crank-up the rock-'n-roll so all you need to do is polish-up that hog, custom job, crotch rocket, rat rod -- whatever -- and get ready to join us for fun and camaraderie!

While we are still filling in more dates and locations (hopefully!), you can pencil in these destinations that we have lined up so far. (*Note: if you have a destination or a location that you'd like to see us pitch one of these wang-dang-doodles, please let us know and we'll work on it!)

5th Line has a "unique" entry so I have included this map to show you where to enter.
Take the roundabout at 'B' Street and MLK Blvd. and head north. Take the hairpin turn and you're there!

Tri-City Americans Who Played in the NHL

Hockey is one of the hardest sports to play. Most hockey players will play the sport their entire lives, starting to skate as soon as they can walk. Even with all that dedication, the likelihood a player cracks an NHL roster is astronomically low. The WHL is a high-tier developmental league that sees many of its players make it to the show. But for a player who makes it to the WHL or any other junior league, the chances of them reaching the NHL is still only 5%. These former Tri-City Americans are those elite few who have made the jump.
