The Medal of Honor is the most prestigious military award. It's the highest personal military decoration in the country.

Staff Sgt. Ronald Shurer was a medic with the Green Berets was sent with his unit by helicopter to hunt down an enemy fighter in Afghanistan in 2008. When they were ambushed by 200 enemy fighters, Ronald began treating the wounded. He saved at least 5 lives that day. President Trump said, "Not a single American died in that brutal battle, thanks in great measure to Ron's heroic actions" while speaking at the ceremony.

Ronald currently serves as a Secret Service agent.  A graduate from Washington State University in 2001, he was turned away after trying to enlist.

After the attacks on September 11, Ronald was accepted into the Army.
