The Yakima Valley Library always has something cooking, and they’re looking for community input and participation. Children’s Day and Customer Survey are two topics that are front and center, and we have the details of both below.

One Of The Last Great Free Resources Of Our Community

Our public library is one of the last silver linings we have in our society. Something that needs to be cherished and supported here in the Yakima Valley. Where else can you go and access the world of information, borrow information and entertainment, for free?

But it’s not free. It takes a lot of work and money to keep things operating so that it can be free for us, and that is where your input comes in handy.

Take The Yakima Valley Libraries Survey

“We want to hear from you! Yakima Valley Libraries is gathering feedback to help shape future programs, services, and community priorities.”
Yakima Valley’s Library’s Facebook Page.

Questions range from which branch of the library you visit, information connection availability, and how you feel welcomed there.

You can take the survey here.

Yakima Valley Library’s Dia De Los Niños

Children’s Day, also known as Dia De Los Niños, or simply “Dia” in the library world, is a nationally recognized initiative that highlights how important it is to get children to read!

In celebration of Children’s Day, the Yakima Valley Libraries will be holding an event on Thursday, April 30th, at the Yakima Central Library from 3 to 5 pm.

This fun-filled day will consist of axe throwing, mini bowling, photo buttons, face painting, crafts, and, of course, the joys of stories, reading, and free books.

More information on the Dia De Los Niños, visit YVL's Event Calendar.

Checking Out A Book? You Could Win Big!

As part of Dia De Los Niños, each of the Yakima Valley Library locations is participating in a prize raffle. If you check out a book on April 30th from any of the open locations, you’ll be entered into the prize raffle!
