Christmas in July Toy Drive Coming to Yakima

When you hear the term ‘Christmas In July’, it is usually followed by a special mid-year sale, tempting you to buy that new phone or car. Or it’s a special promotion for television or streaming to change up their lineup with Christmas specials. It’s not often that a Christmas in July event is done to help others, and that’s just what this one is all about!

Yakima County Sheriff’s Office Celebrating Christmas In July

The Yakima Valley is invited and encouraged to bring the whole family to the upcoming Toy Drive Event on Saturday, July 19th, from 11 am to 2 pm!

“This family-friendly event encourages community members to donate new, unwrapped toys, which will be distributed to children through a local Yakima County school during the holiday season. As a fun thank-you, everyone who donates a toy will receive a complimentary Otter Pop.”

The event is being put on by the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office Foundation at 1822 S. 1st Street (Sheriff’s Office) in Yakima with the simple goal: Collect as many toys as possible to help bring a brighter holiday season to Yakima County children.

How Toy Drives Work

If you’ve helped a toy drive, then you have a pretty good idea of what is expected (and a BIG THANK YOU for helping in the past and helping at this one). Bring a new, unwrapped toy to the Christmas In July Toy Drive at the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office between 11am and 2pm.

If you don’t have time to go shopping for a new toy, cash donations are welcome, and Santa’s summertime helpers can usually make a dollar stretch!
