Which stop lights (or traffic signals for the "roadway correct" people) have horrible time lengths? For example, it'll stay green one way for 5 minutes, but the other way for only 5 seconds? I'll share my latest roadway frustration and invite you to share yours below.

Frustrating Morning Commute

We all have our pet peeves about the morning commute to work. Too many people on the road, no one uses turn signals, always driving with the sun directly in your face, people who are retired are driving slowly for no reason but just to annoy us. Then you have those unfair traffic lights.

The particular pain in my butt on my morning commute is a light at a minor intersection in Yakima.

The light is located at Summitview Ave. and 32nd Ave. For anyone who is not familiar with this particular light, Summitivew is the main roadway, so I expect the light to favor folks traveling on that street.

What I don’t understand is how, when it finally changes, it only stays green for less than 5 seconds. I’m not even halfway through the intersection before it changes. Heaven help the car behind me.

I know some lights have a sensor based on where you stop, but this one, I’m convinced, is on a timer setting, because after 9 am, it seems to give the 32nd direction more leeway. Not as much as Summitview, but more than is allowed at 7am.
