One more rally to help save a big piece of the history of the Yakima Valley. A huge piece of its heritage, and to many, a vital part of the Heart of Yakima.

One More Stand To Save The Yakima Trolley

When we got news about the questionable future of Yakima’s Trolley due to the city budget, many discussions and rallies were held in hopes of saving this important part of Yakima’s history.

A lot of love was shared, but the city council still voted against the future of the trolley. But that is not stopping hope among the fans in Yakima.

A Final Call To Action

In a social media post, an event to “Save Yakima Valley Trolley’s” was created.

“January 20th at 5:00 PM is the final chance to let your voice be heard at City Council and try to save this rich piece of Yakima history.”

The event goes on to share the uncertain future.

“It is still unknown what the City plans to do once they reclaim the car barn. This could very well be the last time anyone ever sees this piece of history in motion.”

As of January first, Yakima Valley Trolleys had to turn over the keys to the car barn “and everything they worked so hard to preserve.” So like the Facebook Event states, this might be your final chance to be part of something beautiful, and to save a piece of Yakima history.
