There has been this song melody stuck in my head for the past couple of months and I have tried and tried to remember the name of it and the lyrics.

I know that it was a popular song from the 90s, so that was where I began my search. If it was from the 90s that meant it had to be one of those quirky alt-pop singers, like Jewel, Natalie Merchant, or someone like that. I looked up the song list from Natalie Merchant and came up empty. It was none of those. Maybe it wasn't Natalie Merchant's voice, could it have been someone else like Natalie Imbruglia? (I was certain that the song stuck in my head was by someone named Natalie.)

I opened up my phone apps and selected Shazam. I was hoping that if I hummed the melody that Shazam would be able to identify it.

I tried that out and Shazam just kept showing the message, "Listening...Listening...No results found."

A hex on all your kids, Shazam app! I had no luck.

Then on Saturday, I had the brilliant idea to search online for a website that lets you hum a song. A quick Google search sent me to the Google Search widget on my Android phone. I bravely pressed the "Search a Song" button and started humming away, not thinking anything was going to turn up.

Lo and behold, Google was able to identify the song that has been stuck in my head for so long! If you don't have an Android phone or want to search from a laptop or desktop, make sure your microphone is enabled and click here at Aha-Music.com.

And guess what? The song turned out to be, "More Than This" by the 10,000 Maniacs, and guess who sang it: NATALIE MERCHANT!
