We've been told numerous times, by numerous places, "DON'T EAT RAW COOKIE DOUGH!" But, for most people, the reaction is, "it tastes good, don't tell me what to do!" Well, several people have gotten sick with Salmonella, and the FDA & CDC have concluded that it was due to consumption of the the dessert treats we love so well from Papa Murphy's Pizzas!

On July 13th, 2023, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) announced that they "investigated an outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis infections linked to Chocolate Chip Cookie and S’mores Bars dough sold at Papa Murphy’s franchises and purchased before May 23, 2023."

If you have purchased Chocolate Chip Cookie and / or S'mores Bars dough from Papa Murphy's restaurants before May 23rd of this year, and still have it in your freezer, better safe than sorry, throw it away!

The stores that were infected were nationwide, but illnesses were reported in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Missouri, and Utah.

Illness Symptoms from Salmonella

According to the FDA, symptoms include: diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps. Symptoms may occur within 12 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food. If you believe you have a case of Salmonella, reach out to your healthcare professional.
