Joining Keep Yakima Clean has made me opened my eyes to not only take in places I know need to get cleaned up but also the knowledge of what steps to take next.

What should you do when you see trash?

Pick it up and throw it away if it's not too much to handle and can be done safely. You can also keep your car trash to a minimum. The bits that blow away add up when it comes from every car. Every city has a department for maintenance and you can submit the area in question. Rally together and have a clean-up day.

How Do I Win?

Join the Facebook Group Keep Yakima Clean. Don't have it, I am pretty sure someone in your circle does. Join a clean-up day, or create your own area to go and clean-up (following all the safety tips provided in the group) post a selfie of what you collect and you're in the months drawing. The more clean areas, the more entries and so on.

The U.S. Census 2019 American Community Survey and America's Health Rankings Senior Report 2019 data were also used to provide demographics on the senior population of each state and the state's rank on senior health care, respectively.
