I am originally from Los Angeles, but grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. In between I spent two years of my childhood in Montana. One in Great Falls and the other in Havre. My mom married a Canadian when I was 9, and we moved to Canada. Because the winters in Edmonton were too damn cold, I moved back to California once I was 21. My radio career has taken me to Casa Grande, Ariz., and to Palm Springs, Fresno and San Luis Obispo, Calif., and back to Edmonton, and Yakima. I play poker, basketball and flag football in my free time. My claim to fame is that my wife Monica is sisters with the former Miss El Salvador 1996, who came in sixth in that year's Miss Universe competition. Of course I think my wife is prettier than her sister! I also have a 12-year-old daughter named Noel who is in junior high and was the fifth-grade champion high jumper.

Here’s What Happens When You Let Men Shop For The Grocieries
Unlike my wife, I'm not thinking about making sure our family gets the right amount of healthy fats, carbs and protein. I tend not to worry about how much salt or sugar I'm consuming and I sure as heck don't do any meal planning. That's the difference between men and women.
Ellensburg’s Got It Going On
I love walking around downtown Ellensburg. Cool old buildings, restaurant's and shops. If it weren't so far away from work I'd love to live in one of the lofts above one of those downtown establishments but the drive (especially in the winter) can be brutal and I have a 2001 Nissan Altima that seems like it needs something fixed every day so I have to take it easy on the old car...
Andy’s Funny Vacation Photo
Back in June I flew from YKM to Los Angeles and my family and I spent a few days in Southern California. Like a typical tourist I like to take pictures with my iPhone and while we were hanging out near the harbor next to the Queen Mary I turned the corner and saw this and of course I had to take the shot...
How Does The Fred Meyer Produce Department Not Get Overrun By Large Families?
Well into my 30's I was used to just being responsible for myself. If I was on the road and thirsty I would stop at a convenience store and buy a soda and if I was feeling really rebellious, maybe an ice cream bar. Well one day in the summer of 1998 my two nieces and my nephew came to visit...
Looking For A Staycation? Check Out The NW Railway Museum
I love the area around Snoqualmie and North Bend. There is plenty to do over the course of a weekend. You can check out Snoqualmie Falls, Downtown North Bend, hike on Mount Si and visit the NW Railway Museum. If, like me, as a kid you were always fascinated with trains this is a great opportunity to take a 70-minute journey on a real old-time locomotive and experience what it was like when the Gre
Save On Luggage Fees If You’re Flying To Las This Vegas Labor Day Weekend
Remember when you paid one price for a flight to your favorite destination and it included your luggage? Obviously those days are long gone. Discount airlines offer amazingly cheap fares (eg. Allegiant Air to Vegas) but to recover part of the revenue they lose by offering such cheap fares they charge for seat selection, soft drinks and yes, even carry on luggage...
Yakima Celebrates National Dog Day
It's National Dog Day and if your pooch is like mine there is nothing more they love than going to the dog park and smelling each others "business cards". So celebrate with them here is the Yakima Valley. Here are the 2 dog parks I could track down in the area...
KATS Celebrates The Breast Party In The Areola
This Sunday celebrate "National Go Topless Day" with 94.5 KATS-FM! The best place to celebrate is on the beaches of New Hampshire, where it's legal to go topless. Here in Central Washington where it's not legal, we'll have to settle for trading greeting cards like on Valentines Day...
CenturyLink Field & Safeco Field From The Air
I fly out of Yakima every six weeks or so on average, and like everyone else, I have to catch a connecting flight in Seattle. What's cool is that on the way back the flight path takes you right past downtown Seattle, CenturyLink Field and Safeco Field so you can always get some great shots like the one I took above a couple of months ago...
My Daughter Takes A Defiant Corn Dog Stand For Throwback Thursday
As my wife was looking for some important papers and combing through old boxes she unearthed this gem of a picture featuring my daughter Noel seemingly saying "Power To The People" or "Viva Oscar Meyer". It looks like the kind of photo op that could have been staged but she looks way too serious...
National Waffle Day In Yakima
Did you celebrate National Waffle Day today? It only comes around once per year so if you haven't celebrated yet it's not too late. At first I wasn't sure if I'd celebrate, then I thought sure, I'll celebrate it, then I wasn't sure and so on...
Aliens From Proxima B Could Be Coming To Earth!
Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating JUST A LITTLE! I am a super astronomy geek though and aced the subject in college. I've watched both the Carl Sagan and Neil Degrasse Tyson versions of "Cosmos" and I have the book. So what I heard today put me over the moon...
