The first sign of bird flu in the U.S. was found in Washington state ... in a duck! This is important because it shows that while wild birds in the U.S. can carry the virus, it is not as troubling as one might think. The strain found in the duck brought down by a hunter is a different strain then the deadly bird flu from Asia and Egypt. Humans and poultry have no need to worry about it spreading, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, but they'll be keeping an eye on it.
