Authorities were on high alert after Prosser High School had to be evacuated this morning, but school officials say the coast is clear now.

According to the Prosser School District, all students were safely evacuated and the Prosser Police Department was on the scene.

According to a release from the school district, though, all buildings are secure:

"Prosser High School has been declared safe for students to return to class. The evacuation was necessary due to a suspicious device being found on campus. A PHS student did the right thing when he reported the device. Thank you to that student for doing what we ask, 'See something, Say something.' All schools are now under normal operations. As with all emergency situations, the district will review our actions and determine if any adjustments to our emergency plans should be made. Our first priority is always student and staff safety. Thank you."
