Yakima Transit is once again going to offer a FREE shuttle bus service to this year's community Independence Day celebration at the fairgrounds this Sunday, July 4.

The bus service is setting up three Park & Ride locations in Yakima to get you to State Fair Park with little hassle.

If you are looking to head down to the celebration at the fair grounds but want to avoid the traffic congestion, this is your ticket!

Shuttles will pick-up and drop-off at these three points roughly every 15 to 20 minutes from 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and again, following the fireworks display, from 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

* Gateway Center on Fair Avenue in front of Office Max and Target
* Eisenhower High School off 40th Avenue and Tieton Drive
* Wide Hollow Elementary School at 72nd and Nob Hill Boulevard

Live music and entertainment start at 5:00 p.m. featuring Yakima Apple Jam All-Stars. The musical talent will include Yakima favorites Jayleigh Ann & The Lost Boys, Bad Habit, Jaden Garza, Arissa Connel and special guests, The Chase Craig Band.

Yakima Transit is asking that all passengers wear a face mask, regardless if vaccinated against the coronavirus or not, as per federal and state mandates.

With that, it is so great that this event has survived all of these years, thanks to many generous donations, and it will be fun to get together with fellow community members once again to celebrate our nation's independence.
