Have you begun to put up your Christmas decorations yet? Put up the Christmas tree or deck the halls? How about the outdoor Christmas lights and decorations on the outside of your home, so that your neighbors and passersby can enjoy the festive spirit?

With 2020 surely going down in history as being one of our most challenging years, the extra effort in festooning our homes and neighborhoods with the signs of hope to light our way into a better 2021 will certainly be appreciated. And just maybe, earn you $500!

I've also learned to be efficient in the task. Since I hang strings of lights all around the edge of the roof and attach to the gutters, I take the opportunity to clean the gutters while I'm at it. It's a lot more work, but why move the ladder around twice, right?

I'm opting for some festive simplicity this year. No inflatables or giant Santas and Reindeer. Of course, I'm hoping you WILL go all out, as you will not only help to 'Light Up Yakima' but you'll have a shot at winning $500 for your efforts, as we've teamed up with Coca Cola of Yakima and The Tri-Cities.
