The Holiday Tradition Washington Would Gladly Get Rid Of
What is the one holiday tradition you wouldn’t lose a single minute of sleep if it disappeared? There are a ton to choose from, but you can only pick one? Are you going big or small?
The Reason For The Seasonal Question
That’s the question we posed to our listening and reading audience, and there is one tradition more than any other that people would be happy to be done with. We’ll discuss below.
The Hustle & Bustle Of The Holiday Season
Everyone knows that this time of year is just non-stop. You’ve got:
*Family - the close and extended that you need to meet with and take care of, otherwise they’ll get “hurt feelings” for Christmas.
*Work - besides the norm of a daily grind, many companies host holiday parties. Those are fun, but they can feel like an obligation.

*Partner’s Work Engagements – If you dragged your partner to your work party, chances are, you’ll have to go to theirs.
*Shopping For Gifts – the mad house of the stores at Christmas time, or even purchasing online, has turned into a hassle.
*Charity Events – Donating to charity, helping out at events, etc. It’s a great thing to do, but it can take up a lot of time and energy.
*Decorating – Getting the house lit up, putting up the tree, stockings, mistletoe, etc.
*Festive Events – Besides the work functions, there are the fun things you want to partake in, holiday bazaars, parades, and fun holiday shows. The events are endless.
*Cooking & Baking – No explanation needed.
*Enjoyment – Finding time for Movies, Music, Etc.
*Christmas Magic – Then there’s all the work that goes into keeping the magic alive. Santa, the elves, Frosty, the Grinch, they’re as real as the Christmas spirit.
The holidays are a lot, and it’s understandable when people just aren’t feeling that Christmas spirit, so in a fun way, I asked our Washington (and Pacific Northwest) audience if they could get away from one tradition, what would they choose? We tallied them up, and here they are!
