Back To School Plans To Be Announced Soon

The Yakima Health District is working on a plan to reopen schools and it's working closely with area school districts. The health district has been talking about a plan that brings kids back in stages with elementary students returning first then middle and high school students.
However there's been no dates set as to when Yakima School District schools will reopen.
The West Valley School District is also considering a similar plan but isn't doing anything until it hears more from district parents and staff. Last week the district released a 15-page "safe return plan". The district has a planned zoom meeting for community members set for 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1.
