I-90 Shutdown Due To Wildfire
The I-90 corridor between Ellensburg and Spokane has been shut down due to wildfire.
Heads up if you've gotta head that way for work or vacation in the morning!
I-90 is closed in Grant County westbound at Exit 154, Adams Road, and eastbound at the Vantage Bridge/SR26. Detours provided via Adams Road and SR26.
Expect delays this evening for sure.
According to the department's other posts, the fire started about 6:00 pm about 11 miles west of George between I-90 and Columbia River. Initial estimate is that approximately a little more than 1000 acres of sagebrush and cheatgrass are on fire at the moment.
A reminder that fire season is here and to be careful when smoking on the road. It's over a $1,000 fine if you throw out a lit flame from your vehicle.
It won't be too long before a lot of Yakimaniacs are headed to Silverwood!
