Yakima Man Sentenced to 300 Months For Making Child Pornography
A 38-year-old Yakima man has been sentenced to 300 months in prison after police say he recorded children in a bathroom at the Valley Mall in Yakima.
THE SUSPECT PLEAD GUILTY IN FEDERAL COURT
Miguel Urbina plead guilty to two counts of Production and Attempted Production of Child Pornography and one count of Possession of Child Pornography. United States District Judge Mary K. Dimke imposed a sentence of 300 months imprisonment to be followed by a life term of supervised release. After being released Urbina will also be required to register as a sex offender.
POLICE SAY URBINA HID A CAMERA IN A WOMAN'S PURSE IN THE BATHROOM
Court documents say Urbina was involved in producing child pornography after secretly making audio and video recordings with a camera that was concealed. Authorities say the camera was hidden in a woman's purse in a bathroom at the Valley Mall in Union Gap. They say the camera recorded "explicit images and video of minor children using the bathroom. These images and videos were saved to Urbina’s computer hard drive. Then, between November 2008 and November 2009, Urbina, produced and attempted to produce child pornography with an individual who was under the age of eighteen."
EVIDENCE WAS FOUND AT HIS HOME BEFORE HIS ARREST
In April of 2020 FBI agents arrived at Urbina's Yakima home with a search warrant. They found and seized a computer hard drive which they say contained thousands of images of child pornography. They also located the camera that was used in the bathroom to record the images as well as other images he recorded in 2008 and 2009.
