The gaming world online is buzzing today and not just from connecting the wrong cables. Nintendo just applied for a N64 trademark that includes video game program, controller, joystick and more. Nintendo did the same thing when they applied for Nintendo and Super Nintendo trademarks for us to get the classic editions of those systems.

The website, Japanese Nintendo, posted a photo of the trademark written in Japanese stating the purposes of the trademark. Signs certainly point to a probable and, let's be honest, predictable, Nintendo 64 Classic Edition which would be a plug 'n play system preloaded with several classic Nintendo 64 games.

Of course this could be for something completely different, too. Or maybe they're doing this so nobody else does, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Nintendo 64 Classic Edition by the end of the year.
