Austin Nola supplied the power at the dish and Taijuan Walker overcame surrendering a couple of gopher balls early on to pace the Seattle Mariners to a 6-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday (Aug. 19) night at T-Mobile Park in Seattle to help break a seven-game losing streak.
Walker gave up bombs to Max Muncy and Joc Pederson in the second inning and Cody Bellinger in the third before settling down to eventually fan 8 Dodgers batters over 7 relatively strong innings to even his ledger to 2-2 with a 4.00 ERA on the 2020 campaign. Walker returned to Seattle, the club that originally drafted him, from the Arizona Diamondbacks following Tommy John surgery.

Taylor Williams, a native of Camas, WA and life-long Mariners fan, navigated some trouble in the ninth inning to convert the save. The M's and Dodgers complete a quick two-game series on Thursday (Aug. 20) with first pitch being delivered at 4:10 p.m. The Mariners raised their record to 8-18 on the year and are currently in last place in the AL West trailing the division leading Oakland Atletics by 9.5 games.

Seattle got a bit of a scare in the third inning when rookie first baseman Even White, fresh off a two-homer game, fouled a pitch off of his leg. He did not return to action and is being listed as day-to-day.
