Police Identify Wednesday Murder Victim

Yakima Police continue investigating a fatal stabbing reported Wednesday at an apartment in the 400 block of North 6th Street. Police have identified the 73-year-old victim as Francis Gallagher. Authorities however haven't released any details about what lead up to the stabbing. No witnesses have been found. Police are hoping for tips from the public.
Officers were called to the apartment just after 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and found Gallagher on the floor of the apartment bleeding from stab wounds.
He was taken to a Yakima's Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital where he died at about 11:46 p.m. Wednesday.
