When summer break arrives, and the kids are out of school, many parents face the difficult choice of what to do with their children while they are at work. The Salvation Army of Yakima offers an option you may not have known about or considered: Day Camp!

Growing up, I was very fortunate; when summer came around, and my brother and I were on school break, we spent a lot of time with our grandparents way out on Summitview Ext. in Yakima. We worked on their farm, went up and cut wood, and helped take care of and worked in the orchards. It helped instill values and precious family time that I wouldn’t trade for the world.

Nowadays, many families don’t have the luxury that I did. For whatever reason, it can be sad, but great organizations are here to help provide a safe, educational, and fun environment. That’s where the Salvation Army of Yakima comes into play with their Day Camp that you can sign up for right now!
