It wasn't pretty but at the end of the day Seahawks fans couldn't have gotten a better early Christmas present.

Seattle jumped out to an early 20-3 lead over the Washington Football Team in a 10:00 a.m. start in our nation's capitol on Sunday (December 20). The Hawks then hung on and withstood a final flurry to hang on for a 20-15 win -- their fourth in their last five games and 10th of the season. Combined with the Los Angeles Rams shocking home loss to the winless New York Jets, the Hawks again reclaimed sole possession of first place in the NFC West and vaulted back up to the third seed in the NFC playoff picture.

Running Back Carlos Hyde likely had the play of the game when he busted loose for a 50-yard touchdown scamper. Defensively, Seattle forced Washington backup quarterback Dwayne Haskins into throwing two interceptions. The win did come at a bit of a physical cost however as Running Back D.J. Dallas was carted off of the field in an air cast after spraining his ankle.
After the game, Seahawks Safety Jamal Adams began his press conference by opening it with a hearty "HELL YEAH!" as he is now officially in the playoffs for the first time in his four-year career.

Seattle can all but clinch the division next Sunday with a victory over the second place Rams at Lumen Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. We will have pregame coverage beginning at 11:00 a.m. on your home of the 12s in Central Washington - 94.5 KATS.
