Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is the dog fights, so this news has my super excited. First announced as a accidental leak via the
XBox.com's homepage, the next Star Wars game from publisher
EA is going to be a flying/dog fighting game titled "
Star Wars: Squadrons". After noticing the leak, EA tweeted out an official announcement with a tagline "
Pilots Wanted."

VentureBeat, a source close to the game's production company states that “
Star Wars: Squadrons is [a] game about piloting ships in head-to-head battles. It features a single-player campaign, but the main focus for Squadrons is on the multiplayer. The idea is to get players fighting against each other in team battles featuring iconic Star Wars vessels.”  Fingers crossed that the game will be dropping on consoles & PC's this fall. No word on if it'll be on this current generation of consoles (XBox One/PS4/Nintendo Switch) or if it's expected to be a launch title for the upcoming Xbox Series X & PS5, or perhaps will be "cross generation" and be released for both.

Besides the reveal trailer this Monday, we hope to actually get some in game footage as well as actual gameplay plus many more details later this week as EA does their virtual event, EA Play Live. Starting on June 18th at 4pm it's expected to go through the weekend.
