Federal authorities raided the Zionsville, Ind., home of Subway spokesman Jared Fogle early this morning as they searched for evidence of child pornography.
Fogle was detained outside his home but not arrested, CNBC reported. Agents obtained a search warrant and have removed electronic equipment from the house.

Neither Subway nor law enforcement authorities offered any details of the investigation, though the FBI released a statement saying agents are "conducting investigative activity in the area. We can not disclose the nature of the activity at this time."

The former director of a foundation Fogle established, Russell Taylor, was arrested earlier this year and accused of possessing child pornography. He ultimately tried to kill himself while being held in jail this past May.

The foundation, which was set up to battle childhood obesity, immediately severed ties with Russell following the accusation.

Fogle has long been featured in numerous Subway restaurant ads after claiming he lost 250 pounds by eating a diet that included Subway menu items.
