23 Subway Restaurants Close In Oregon & Washington! Could More Be On The Way?
When word spread that 23 Subway closed in Oregon and Washington, many started questioning if their favorite sub spot was in danger of closing.
My heart goes out to the staff that suddenly lost their jobs recently, and I hope they land back on their feet soon.
The worry of more restaurants closing in the future does not seem to be a concern, at least not for the reasons that affected the stores in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
Subway stores are independent franchises, and the owner of now-closed restaurants, Ann Bell, was the victim of a bank account hack.
According to CBS affiliate KOIN, she lost hundreds of thousands of dollars from the account that was used to manage the restaurants.
Due to issues continuing service to its staff, parent company Subway took action to close the stores as well as end Ann’s contract and ownership earlier this month.
It does sound like Subway plans to re-open the affected stores.
Are Our Subway Restaurants Safe From Closing?
Since the closures of these Subways are part of a franchisee’s ownership, most likely our Subway locations are safe from closing.
But, being a little tongue in cheek, Subway, as a whole, might want to address the issue of paying over $12 for a once “5 Dollar Footlong”.
