'Tis the season and with all of the decorating and putting up lights and blowing up the inflated snowmen, there's Christmas music in the air at the Stephenson household. It truly is the 'most wonderful time of the year' whether it's Andy Williams singing it or any one of the dozens of others who have laid down that joyful track!

Andy Williams, by the way, does have one of the most highly rated Christmas songs ever with the version he released in 1963. It's one of my favorites too. What's your favorite Christmas playlist? Classic Christmas Carrols? Pop Christmas Standards? Novelty Christmas Tunes? New Favorites? Yes. I like all of the above.

I was a teenager when 'Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer' by Elmo and Patsy was a sensation. The phone at the radio station I was working for was ringing off the hook with kids requesting that song. They would literally be calling asking to hear it while it was playing on the air. It drove me nuts and to this day I have a very low tolerance for the song.

These are a few of my favorite Christmas compilations:

Pentatonix: That's Christmas to Me (2014)

Here's my favorite cut from it, 'Mary, Did You Know?'

It's chock full of great songs performed by an unbelievably talented acapella group.

The Great Songs of Christmas Album Five. Goodyear. 1965

Various artists of the day, Goodyear, like Firestone, offered these compilations to customers. Some of my earliest memories are of listening to my Mom's copy of this.

Kinda makes you want to go buy a set of tires.....

Bing Crosby - The Best of Christmas

Speaks for itself. It's Bing, which rhymes with a ring, which is what bells do. So, yeah.

Bing also was famous for 'Holiday Inn' & 'White Christmas' classic Christmas movies.

Handel's Messiah

So many great performances. Here's 'Live from the Sydney Opera House'.
