Indoor football became a part of the Tri-Cities sports landscape in 2005 with the Tri-Cities Fever, who captured the NIFL Championship in its inaugural season, and now 16 years later, another group of dasher board diehards is giving it a go, as the Tri-City Rush Professional Indoor Football Organization will be holding their first round of tryouts this Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Southridge Sports Complex in Kennewick from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. You must register online before your tryout can commence, and you can do that here.

Head Coach Brandon Tate said, “I am excited to see what everyone can do. We have athletes traveling in and high profile athletes locally that are going to get their chance to show why they deserve a spot on our limited training camp roster. Everyone’s dream is to get paid to play football and on January 10th somebody is taking their dream a step further.”

Tryouts will be a combine format. Drills will include the 40-yard dash, short shuttle, broad jump and L drill. Athletes will also perform in individual position drills, group position drills and team drills. Tryouts will be performed both inside and outside so Athletes must bring football cleats as well as basketball style running shoes. The cost is $70 for participants and attendees will receive a Tri-City Rush tryout t-shirt with their tryout number on it.

The Rush are also pumped about the signing of a former UNLV Rebels signal caller, Les Obie. Obie will enter camp and immediately compete for the starting quarterback job.
