TV & Rock Star Dave Navarro to Speak at Yakima YWCA Luncheon

Jane's Addiction and Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Dave Navarro is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the 2021 Yakima YWCA Leadership Luncheon on Monday, April 26th at 12:00 p.m.
Besides achieving worldwide fame in rock music, Navarro has also been on numerous television shows such as Ink Master and was famously once married to model Carmen Electra.

What is less-known about the 53 year-old Navarro is his personal story about dealing with domestic violence in the most horrifying manner.

Navarro's mother was murdered by her boyfriend when he was just 15 years-old. He has since released a full-length movie documenting his struggles dealing with it that took seven years to film entitled "Mourning Son".

When not busy rocking or filming, Navarro travels the world as an advocate to end domestic violence. Along with Navarro's somber story, the event will also spotlight "stories of strength and perseverance from women in our community."

Funds raised from the luncheon, according to the Yakima YWCA website will "help YWCA Yakima continue to provide and expand programs and improve health and safety for women, children, and families."
