"There is no current indication of ongoing transmission among employees and this outbreak is considered to have concluded." Words in a press release from the Yakima Health District about COVID-19 cases at the Costco in Union Gap. District officials say they've concluded the investigation into the outbreak reported between December 11 of 2020 and January 2, 2021 in which 177 cases of COVID-19 were found among employees.
Health officials say, however they were unable to identify the source of the outbreak. No customers were reported to have been exposed.
Dr. Larry Jecha, Interim Health Officer with the Yakima Health District says the outbreak was a good example of how fast COVID-19 can spread in the community.
Daily drive-thru testing continues daily at Yakima's State Fair Park and the Sunnyside Community Center.
